Jumbo Summer Veg Patch

So for my first ever try at growing veg i bought this and this summer i planted the courgettes, french beans, carrots, peppers and tumbling tom tomatoes. The courgettes were awesome but you do have to space them out like the instructions say as they grow huge. also you need to check them at least everyother day when it's harvest time else they turn into marrows. french beans were great (and all grown in a bucket!) and had two crops (about a month apart) although i lost a few along the way so i'd plant a few more next time. carrots were the best - dead simple and produced loads. tumbling tom tomatoes was also great, really easy and done in two hanging baskets - i'm still picking them now in October. peppers i have 8 plants with about 3-4 peppers each. i kept the seedlings inside for a bit to give them a chance to get going, but after that they grew really well outside in a pot.
all in all, low hassle (the instructions are clear) and very successful. (Posted on 07/10/2009)
