Default compost bins

does anybody know where I can buy a compost bin? I'm in west London and I don't have a car.

hi
I'm not in west london but you could see if your local council has an offer, as they generally want to encourage people to compost to reduce waste going to landfill and may even have discounted bins that they will deliver to you...

or you could try making your own compost bin if you have some wood/planks and building a box.

hi there
I'm going to be moving in the summer so I'm reluctant to build my own. I shall certainly contact the council so thanks for that suggestion. I may buy another plastic bin and use that. Does anyone know if I can put urine in the compost as I intend to use the compost on my vegetables??? or do I have to leave it for a certain period before the compost can be used??

i know compost can be peeed on! as it helps things along in the early stages to make a better fertiliser...i guess you should wait until the compost is ready before putting in on the veg,,

I had a look around the web and found this interresting aritcle....it seems the National Trust is activtly encouraging this practice!
