[Mums veg]

I love January for my veg patch as I can really get stuck into the planning for the coming year. I am determined that this year I will try some different veg - perhaps peppers - as well as my favourites. I always grow for early summer picking broad beans, mange tout and spinach but this year I am also going to put in some early carrots and potatoes. My purple sprouting broccoli and spring cabbage will be ready for eating in March/April and from then I aim to have a succession of lots of lovely veg.

On going of course are all the many varieties of salad crops and as time has gone by I have got better at this is terms of keeping up the planting on a regular basis so that it is not all feast or famine - or at least that is my New Year resolution!! - time will tell.
